Finland’s rising groove and thrash metal act, Furious Descent, has officially signed with Brutal Records. The band’s highly anticipated debut EP, Judgement Day, is set for release on November 8, 2024, available in both physical and digital formats. Fans won’t have to wait long for more, as the band is already channeling their relentless energy into their second EP, slated for a 2025 release under the same label.

The Finnish groove/thrash metal scene, renowned for its crushing dominance and relentless intensity, has long served as a benchmark for the genre. Furious Descent joined this formidable tradition in 2022, exploding onto Finland’s west coast metal scene with a ferocity that shook the genre’s foundations. Often celebrated as one of the most impactful metal movements of the 1990s, the Finnish scene has now welcomed its latest heavyweight contender.

Formed by Jake (vocals/guitar) and Alex (bass), the band’s original lineup expanded with the addition of Stef on lead guitar and Timo on drums, culminating in the recording of Judgement Day during the summer of 2023. However, as momentum was building, the departure of Timo necessitated a challenging search for a replacement.

After a brief and tumultuous period with a second lineup that performed just one live gig, Furious Descent reemerged stronger than ever by the summer of 2024. The current lineup now features Oz on lead guitar and Mike on drums, alongside the steadfast founding members Jake and Alex, solidifying a powerhouse quartet ready to leave a lasting mark on the global metal scene.
