Korpsesoturi Solidify Elite Status in Finnish Death Metal with Crucial New LP Korplish Sedamon.
Born from the depths of the Finnish underground, KORPSESOTURI stands as an uncompromising bulwark of pure sonic violence. Rejecting modern trends and commercial polish, the band sharpens its focus exclusively on the core tenets of true death metal: raw gravity, overwhelming aggression, and a suffocating, pitch-black atmosphere. Driven by monolithic guitar work, catastrophic percussion, and cavernous vocals, their sound is a masterclass in old-school devastation—crushing any attempt at accessibility to deliver a record of absolute, unyielding extremity.
Korplish Sedamon marks the definitive apex of a relentless 12-year trajectory into the abyss.
Since striking ground in 2014, KORPSESOTURI has built an iron-clad reputation in the extreme underground by steadfastly refusing to bend to industry trends. Much of this crushing new monument is forged from the singular, uncompromising vision of multi-instrumentalist Juha Ahlfors, who engineered the entire record—writing all music and lyrics, tracking guitars, bass, and vocals, and steering the production, mixing, and mastering.
Propelled by the catastrophic percussion of drummer Otto Uotila, the album was tracked deep within the frozen confines of Finland at Wanha Wihtahousu Studios and ZombiEater Studios. The result is a sonic monolith that doesn't just pay homage to the legendary, pitch-black tradition of Finnish death metal—it weaponizes it for the modern era, delivering a remorseless, razor-sharp impact with zero distractions and absolutely no softened edges.
KORPSESOTURI simply delivers old school death metal. And they deliver it with conviction.
The band comments:
